The World Water Council is an international multi-stakeholder organization, created in 1996 and based in Marseille. Its working languages are English and French. Itl has 260 member organizations, which come from 52 countries across 5 continents.
The World Water Council's mission is to gather the international community to convince decision-makers that water is a political priority for the sustainable and equitable development of the planet. The Council’s activities have 3 main purposes, which are to mobilize political action and hydrodiplomacy, to promote water security, and to organize the World Water Forum.
