SEMIDE’s partner countries correspond to the countries involved into the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM): the 27 EU member states, and the 16 non EU countries involved in the partnership i.e.10 EU Southern Neighbourhood countries  (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya*, Morocco, Palestine, Syria** and Tunisia), Balkan countries with a shore on the Mediterranean sea, Turkey, Monaco and Mauritania.

* Libya has an observer status in the UfM

** Syria suspended its UfM membership in 2011
