The FutureLakes project is launching a Call for Applications to select three associated regions that will receive up to €54,000 each to develop an action plan for the restoration of a natural lake in their region.
Objectives of the Call:
- Restore nature in regional lakes.
- Develop a sustainable blue economy around healthy lakes.
- Enhance climate resilience against extreme weather events.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Local and regional authorities, as well as river basin organisations and authorities, from EU member states and their outermost regions and Horizon Europe associated countries.
- Regions from countries already represented in the FutureLakes consortium may not apply, this includes Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and the United Kingdom.
- Local and regional authorities will act as the project beneficiary and be the Lead Applicant in case of cooperation of more entities in the form of a consortium.

- Project Duration: 30 September 2025 – 30 September 2027
Applicants will be informed of the evaluation results by 1 June 2025.
