The Water4All Partnership, co-funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme, is organizing an insightful webinar entitled “Addressing EU Water Directive governance gaps: Solutions for Stakeholders’ involvement and Cross-sectoral cooperation”, taking place on 15 April 2025, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET.
Organized by the Policy Support Working Group, this online event will bring together experts, practitioners, and stakeholders to present and discuss concrete solutions to governance challenges in the implementation of three major EU water-related directives:
- the Water Framework Directive (WFD),
- the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive,
- the Drinking Water Directive.
Special attention will be given to stakeholders’ involvement and cross-sectoral cooperation, illustrated by two concrete case studies:
- The Canale Reale River Contract (Italy) on stakeholder engagement.
- The Catalan Water Partnership (Spain) on cross-sectoral collaboration.
The webinar is part of the Water4All Partnership's broader efforts to foster systemic transformations, bridging research, innovation, and policy, while providing actionable solutions to strengthen water governance in Europe.
In addition, this event will serve as a preparatory step towards a physical workshop during the upcoming EURO-INBO Conference in Parma, Italy, from 19 to 22 May 2025.
Key highlights:
- Insights into innovative approaches for addressing governance gaps.
- Exchange with experts and peers through interactive discussions.
