The French government has published the third National Climate Change Adaptation Plan (PNACC3), aimed at strengthening the country's resilience to the growing impacts of climate change.
This plan is based on a reference warming trajectory, projecting temperature increases of up to +4°C by 2100. It includes nearly 200 concrete actions structured around five key areas: protecting populations, strengthening the resilience of territories and infrastructure, adapting human activities, preserving natural and cultural heritage, and comprehensive stakeholders mobilisation.
Developed with the input of various stakeholders (local authorities, businesses, associations, professionals, citizens), the PNACC3 seeks to integrate climate adaptation into all strategic decisions. It is part of the French Energy and Climate Strategy (SFEC) and complements efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
